April News: Top 3

Staying up to date with what’s going on in your community and nation is important; but keeping up with the many events that happen each week, much less each day, is nearly impossible.
Educating yourself on the current events going on around you can save time and keep you safe. However, staying on top of an endless news cycle is not something many people have time for.
Because of this, we’ve put together an overview of the top three news stories for this month:

1. Ford Recalling 53,000 Trucks that Can Roll Away While Parked

Ford is recalling 53,000 2017 F-250 trucks because they can roll away even when they are parked due to a manufacturing error.
Ford says drivers should use the parking brake to make sure that parked cars don’t move.
Dealers will also replace the defective part for free, but Ford doesn’t have the replacement parts yet. It will notify owners when the parts are available.

2. DUI Suspect Arrested After Attempting to Bribe Officer

An Oklahoma City woman was arrested after police say she attempted to bribe an officer while being placed under arrest.
Officers allegedly found Simpson kicking in the door of a home. Police reports show Simpson initially began to run but stopped in the driveway of the home. The officer noted that Simpson was yelling and slurring her words.
After Simpson failed a sobriety test, the officer placed her under arrest. While in the backseat of the officer’s vehicle Simpson allegedly stated she would pay $1,000 to the officer if she could go home.
Simpson was then arrested on complaints of driving under the influence, driving while privilege suspended, offering a bribe, and two counts of placing body fluids upon a government employee.
